Professor Mike Damzen - Founder
Mike Damzen is currently the head of the non-linear optics group in the photonics section at Imperial College London. He has 25 years of experience in developing lasers and is the founder of Midaz Lasers Ltd. He is the Technical Director at MIdaz Lasers and is the primary contact for all technology enquiries.
Dr Ara Minassian - Co- Founder
Ara is the Chief Scientific Officer at Midaz Lasers. He has over 10 years of experience in research and development of solid-state lasers.
Dr Craig Tombling - Chief Executive Officer
Craig Tombling has directed operations, engineering and development in a range of companies with focus on optics, lasers, displays and optoelectronics. Craig has worked at NTT Basic Research, Tokyo, and Sharp Laboratories in Oxford and Japan. He co-founded start-up companies Kamelian and Amphotonix, developing and manufacturing optical components, and has consulted for a number of start-up companies in photovoltaics, lasers, international outsourcing and product management.
Dr Paul Atherton - Executive Chairman and Investor
Paul is an active angel investor and entrepreneur focussing on the commercialisation of nanotechnology. His first company was Queensgate Instruments which he co-founded whilst still a graduate student in the Astronomy Group at Imperial College. He served as Group Managing Director at Queensgate from 1986 until its sale in March 2000. In recent years Paul has extended his scientific interests and is now director, investor and/or chairman of a number of European companies working in fields as diverse as software, lasers, battery technology and metrology instrumentation. Dennis Camilleri - Business Development Manager
Dennis Camilleri has over 25 years experience in general management and international business development gained with photonics companies. Previous positions include Sales Director and Managing Director of Melles Griot UK, Managing Director of Laetus Vision and Microscan. At Willett International, Dennis was Business Development Director prior to the Trade Sale of Willett to Danaher. Dennis has a Masters degree in Applied Optics and was elected Fellow of the Institute of Physics in 1998.
